Mojang submits Minecraft - Pocket Edition version 0.5 to the App Store
Available 'mid-November'
Minecraft developer Mojang has submitted a huge new update to its blocky world builder's pocket-sized companion. This update will hit iOS and Android later this month.
The big new additions are paintings, glowstone, mushroom faming, melons, and the nether reactor (which generates zombified pigmen - also new).
Mojang has also been busy making some gameplay balancing tweaks. So, you'll get more health from eating food, you'll restore hearts when sleeping in a bed, and that thick blanket of fog has been lifted a little.
There are also loads of bug fixes, which you can see here. If you're into that sort of thing.
Melons!
The Minecraft - Pocket Edition update is now in Apple's hands. If it passes through The Big A's approval system without a hitch, it will be available to download sometime this month. Mojang will then update the Android version with the same content.
