The latest version of Minecraft Pocket Edition adds an awesome new feature to the mix: Xbox Live achievements.

In this guide, we’re going to tell you how to unlock them all. But first, some caveats.

You must be signed in to Xbox Live to earn achievements. You must be in survival mode, and you can’t use a world that has swapped from creative to survival mode.

You can, however, use a custom seed to start your game.

Okay, sorted? Let’s begin.

Into the Nether - 30G
Construct a Nether Portal

Nether

We've got a whole guide on this, but basically: make a bucket out of iron ingots and then fill it up with water. Dig deep underground until you find lava source (that's lava without a flowing animation).

Then pour the water onto a block near the lava source, so the water drains onto it and cools it. Remove the water with your bucket to reveal obsidian. Use a diamond pickaxe to mine 10 blocks.

Then make a portal shape with 2 blocks on the bottom, 3 blocks each on the left and right, and one block at the top. Use other blocks for the corners to save obsidian.

Then light a fire in the portal using flint and steel (made from flint, which comes from gravel, and an iron ingot). This will turn it into a gateway to The Nether.

Pop inside to get the achievement.

Local Brewery - 15G
Brew a potion

Potion

We've got a guide for this, too. Now you have your Nether portal you can pop in and kill a Blaze to get a Blaze Rod. Also, get some Nether Warts.

Then, use a Blaze Rod and three cobblestone blocks to make a brewing stand.

Grab some sand from the beach and cook it in a furnace to make glass. Turn three glass blocks into a bottle and fill it with water. Combine it with the Nether Wart on your new brewing stand to make an Awkward Potion.

If that's not enough for the achievement then combine the Awkward Potion with sugar to make a Potion of Swiftness. That should do it.

Stayin' Frosty - 20G
Swim in lava while having the Fire Resistance effect

Resistance

Actually, instead of using sugar in the potion above, use Magma Cream. You get this from Magma Cubes, which are hostile mobs found in The Nether (often in nether fortresses).

This will give you a Potion of Fire Resistance. Then find some lava, chug the potion down, and hop in the pool. Feels good, man.

Enchanter - 20G
Construct an Enchantment Table

Table

Wouldn't you know it, we've got a guide for this one as well. Use four of the obsidian blocks we got above, two diamonds, and a book (made from leather and paper, which come from cows and sugar canes respectively) to make a table.

Freight Station - 15G
Use a hopper to move an item from a Chest Minecart to a Chest

freight

You don't need much fancy stuff to make this. Just put a hopper on top of a chest (use sneak to avoid opening the chest). Then run a rail over the hopper.

Place a minecart with chest on the rail, pop something in the chest, and then push it over the hopper. The item will get sucked out and placed into the chest below.

Body Guard - 20G
Create an Iron Golem

Iron Golem

An Iron Golem is rather easy to make. The tough part is getting all the iron ingots: you'll need 36 for this build.

Once you have them all, turn them into four blocks of iron on a crafting table. Then place them in a t-shape: one on top of the other, and then two jutting out from the sides of the top one.

Finally, put a pumpkin on the top and an iron golem will be created. Ta-da!

Zombie Doctor - 40G
Cure a zombie villager

Golden Apple

Zombie villagers have a small chance of spawning in your game. To cure them you'll need two things: a golden apple and a Potion of Weakness.

A golden apple is made by crafting an apple and eight golden ingots. A Potion of Weakness comes from a Water Bottle and a Fermented Spider Eye. That's a spider eye mixed with brown mushroom and sugar.

You can then turn it into a splash potion with gunpowder taken from a creeper. Or plop it into a cauldron and dip an arrow in to make a tipped arrow.

Throw or fire the potion at the zombie villager. Then use the golden apple.

According to the Minecraft wiki: "A loud hissing sound will be heard if successful, and the zombie villager will begin to shudder. The curing process will take 2–5 minutes, during which time the zombie villager behaves as normal."
