Upcoming Mike Vick: GameTime will bring a 4-on-4 football experience to your iPhone or iPad

American football is a tough sport to bring to the world of mobile gaming.

With 53 active players to manage per team (45 on game day), there are a lot of helmets to juggle as a developer tries to capture the pure gridiron experience.

The US-based KBJ Games is looking to turn mobile football gaming on its ear with the upcoming Mike Vick: GameTime, a 4-on-4 football simulator recently announced for the iPhone and iPad.

Mike Vick: GameTime allows players to balance football skills with coaching strategy in a professional take on smaller teams more frequently seen in schoolyards than stadiums.

Hut, hut, hike!

While it's not known what licensing the game will carry, the likeness of the controversial quarterback Michael Vick is featured prominently as is his team number - 7 - on the artwork for GameTime.

Michael Vick plays for the Philadelphia Eagles as quarterback, and although the team's colours are featured in the artwork, their iconic logo is noticeably absent as is Michael Vick's more proper, full name.

Despite these misgivings, we are hopeful that Mike Vick: GameTime will deliver a more satisfying football experience than the Eagles offensive line did against the Saints on Monday night.
