Looking good, Commander not-Shepard

Mass Effect Infiltrator landing on the App Store tomorrow

Mass Effect Infiltrator has landed on the New Zealand App Store, meaning it’ll be shooting its way into the US and UK from midnight tonight.

While the previous effort at bringing the blockbuster action-RPG to mobiles was pretty poor, Infiltrator is looking a lot closer to its console brethren.

Renegade

You don’t actually play as mega-awesome, reaper-kicking (obviously a woman) Commander Shepard, however. Instead you star as Cerberus agent Randall Ezno - a slightly ill-looking man with glowing tattoos on his face.

Your task is to get some Cerberus files into the hands of the alliance, taking down big bioped machines, the Geth, and more in a 3rd-person view.

There are biotics and the usual array of sci-fi weaponry from the main series to equip your man with, as well as the ability to ‘ Improve your chances in the final Mass Effect 3 battle’, which sounds intriguing.

We’ll find out whether Mass Effect Infiltrator is worth sneaking up to when it lands on both iPhone and iPad tomorrow for £4.99 / $6.99.
