Marvel Future Fight's Black Widow update adds characters and themed outfits from the delayed film

Netmarble has today released a major update inspired by Marvel's now-delayed Black Widow. It introduces new playable characters, gameplay tweaks, uniforms, and more, and it's now available globally for iOS and Android.

First off, the new characters are Yelena Belova (played in the film by Florence Pugh) and Red Guardian (portrayed by Stanger Things' David Harbour). Those looking to spice up their wardrobe will find four new movie-themed outfits available to collect for Black Widow, Yelena Belova, Red Guardian, and Taskmaster.

The Black Widow update also adds a themed Legendary Battle. You can expect three new stages featuring characters from the upcoming film. On top of that, a new system known as Future Pass has arrived. This allows you to earn pass points by progressing through pre-existing content during each season for special rewards at each pass point. You can upgrade the Future Pass to earn better rewards by purchasing a Pass product.

Black Widow has a new ultimate skill that can be upgraded to Tier-3. The Awaken Potential feature for Red Guardian and the Realise Potential feature for Yelena Belova, Red Guardian, Daredevil, Mockingbird, and Agent 13 are also now available.

The game's Dimensional Mission mode has received five new stages, and some quality of life improvements have been made to the S.H.I.E.L.D Academy.

I have to imagine that this update was originally intended to launch alongside Marvel's Black Widow, which has since been delayed from its intended May 1st release to November due to COVID-19. In any case, it's cool to see characters from the latest entry in the MCU pop up in-game, giving fans something to tide them over until the film's eventual release.

If you'd like to take the new characters for a spin, you'll find Marvel Future Fight up for download over on the App Store and Google Play.
