If you logged into Mario Kart Tour today, you might've found everything to be a bit different. All of the tracks you were playing are gone, in their place is a brand new selection of tours, in addition to a bunch of new drivers, karts, and gliders. What is going on?

That's what this guide is here to answer and, believe me, this is not the end. You will be finding that tracks will be switching up regularly and new stuff will be added in time.

But it also means there's a bunch of new rewards for you to earn, new rubies, and loads of coins for you to spend in the shop. That's new stuff to add to your collection. Get ready to dive in…

Oh, and if you want to see our Mario Kart Tour review, our news, features, or our other in-depth guides, make sure to take a look at our Ultimate Guide to Mario Kart Tour. Every two weeks

Every two weeks you'll find that the game has introduced a brand new load of tracks, tours, and much more. Of course, that also means there's a whole bunch of new Grand Stars to earn.

With your existing collection, you should be able to get 5 Grand Stars one each of the immediately available tours pretty easily, though as you might imagine, the recommended equipment for many of the tours asks you to earn some of the brand new drivers, karts, and gliders that are available in the update.

In the current Tokyo Tour update, that means a brand new Tokyo track, and the New York track that starred in the last tour is gone. There's also a bunch of brand new tracks here, some which will see you driving around Peach's Castle, and others that you'll remember from past Mario Kart games.

1
New tracks

The new tracks are possibly the most exciting part of getting a brand new Mario Kart Tour update. There are loads of new courses for you to race around and set new high scores on to go along with the brand new tour.

Even tracks you're used to have been changed before being added, with reversed R versions, and others which have had new item placements, dash pads, flight pads, and more.

If you already have good Mario Kart track knowledge, these will be easy to adjust to, and you'll be setting new high scores in no time.

2
New rewards

The new rewards are the second most exciting part of a new tour. As you earn Grand Stars, you will be unlocking brand new rewards for you to collect.

More rubies for pulls, coins for the shop, tickets for upgrades, and much more. All of these will definitely help you get all of the available Grand Stars.

Remember to check the Challenges section to find out what you need to do to earn more Grand Stars, as they may help you get the rewards you want.

Go for gold?

Ah, the Gold Pass. It costs too much, but in each new tour every two weeks, it can offer a lot of rewards.

If you're still on your Gold Pass trial and have no desire to re-sub, make sure to get as many rewards as you still can by racing through the tour quickly, and using quick tickets to speed up time and give you access to tours which aren't yet unlocked.

If you haven't got the Gold Pass yet, the best idea is to wait until near the end of this tour, get the trial, get the rewards, and then earn as many as possible in the next tour.
