Major Magnet Arcade, PagodaWest's one-tap super hard platforming sequel, is out right now on iPhone

Major Magnet Arcade isn't a free-to-play game. Even though it says that it is in the App Store screenshots. It's 69p / 99c, and it's quite good when it actually works.

The game is cut into sharp-edged little platforming challenges that follow a similar pattern to its predecessor, the Silver Award-winning Major Magnet.

Tap magnets to grab them, swing around for a while to gain some momentum, then catapult yourself onwards. Swiping on the screen boosts you in that direction for a little while too.

There are magnorbs to collect in order to get the highest score and you need to nab a large biscuit thing to open the portal and complete the level.

Each of these levels is chopped into five chunks and you need to finish them all before you run out of lives.

Much like the original Major Magnet the game gets pretty tough pretty quickly. You'll need to be nimble fingered and have sharp reactions if you want to get through some of the levels unscathed.

There's a strangely unfinished feel to the game though. It looks gorgeous, with spectacular animations and backdrops, but it crashes often, and some menus lead to dead-ends without ways of escape.

While Major Magnet Arcade is fun, it might be worth holding back to see if PagodaWest Games adds an update to the game to address some of these problems.

If you can't wait, you can grab Major Magnet Arcade from the App Store right now for 69p / 99c. An Android version should be on the way soon too.
