Madden 21 Mobile is one of the only NFL gaming experiences on mobile. It is, of course, the mobile version of the iconic console franchise. And although Madden Mobile has been around for a long time now, it has now received more attention thanks to the increasing popularity of mobile gaming today.
And with the Super Bowl being just a week away, don't be surprised if you see more folks firing up the game on mobile. The game features card collecting like in the console version's popular Ultimate Team mode which has since been a part of other popular sports games.
But, what's one thing that everyone loves in football or any sport for that matter? Scoring points. And in today's NFL, a great offense led by a top tier quarterback can be key to success. Here are few basic things to keep in mind when playing on the offensive side of the football in Madden Mobile.
Don't Be Afraid To Throw Short Passes
In any Madden football game, it's always popular (and fun) to throw the deep ball downfield. You can certainly do this, and if you have a fast wide receiver to throw to, then your chances of success are pretty good. So in no way am I saying to not go deep. Do so if you feel it's necessary.
However, don't let anything stop you from throwing shorter passes. And no, I don't mean slant passes which can get you killed for a loss of yards if you don't have an opening after the catch. Short slants can be quite effective if you time your throws right.
Having a good tight end can be beneficial too. Having them run a quick slant and catching can possibly lead to a few extra yards since they have a better chance of breaking tackles. But throwing short, quick passes are a great way to pick up some yards and avoid risking getting intercepted in the process.
Run The Ball Enough
So, in real football, this is pretty much common sense. With that said, today's game is a passing heavy league, and that also includes in video games like Madden NFL 21 Mobile. It's definitely the popular thing to do, especially going deep like we mentioned earlier.
With that being said, it's still important to utilize the running game. Many of the best teams in the NFL have great running backs, despite relying more on the play of the quarterback. Depending on what team you pick in season mode, it's definitely good to run the ball down the opponent's throats.
However, it helps when your team has a really good back to work with. Not saying you shouldn't run the ball, even with an average back, but having a good-to-great back can make a huge difference. If you use the Tennesse Titans, for example, you'll have Derrick Henry to use. Vikings? Dalvin Cook's your guy. Heck, or even the Bears with David Montgomery who is more in the "good" to "very good" category.
Again, a good running game doesn't always require an all-pro back, but if your favourite team has one of elite calibre, then make the most of it. Every weapon counts.
Scramble If You Have The Ability To
This is something that is more predicated on the type of QB you have under centre but man, this can be effective. It's something that has been a useful tool in the Madden games for a long time, and it's no different in Madden NFL 21 Mobile.
I'm talking about scrambling. Sure, this may seem like a silly thing to rely on but it can do wonders when needed. The only problem is that you'd have to hope that you have a card with a QB that has solid enough speed or that you pick a squad that has one in season mode.
Don't worry though, your QB doesn't need a 90 or even 80-speed rating to be a successful scrambler. 70 to 75 can do the job. Just know that you may not gain big yards, but you can give yourself a chance to get some key first downs. So nope, you don't need Lamar Jackson, Michael Vick or Fran Tarkenton to be a really good scrambling QB. Aaron Rodgers is a solid runner, and he doesn't have blazing speed. So take a look at your QB's card, check his speed rating, and determine if you're comfortable enough to run with him.
