Capcom's latest foray on the App Store has gone live in New Zealand in the form of platformer MaXplosion.

MaXplosion is a casual platformer that tasks you with escaping from the Ministry of All Destruction. Playing as protagonist Max, you are gifted with the ability to explode at will. This can be can used to damage surrounding foes, or elevate you to otherwise unreachable areas.

We haven't had a chance to play it yet, but it sounds awfully similar to 'Splosion Man on XBLA.

Various enemy types and three boss fights are spread over 20 levels, with interactive objects such as water jets and lasers added to the mix. Game Center is on hand to take care of 44 achievements and leaderboards for each level.

MaXplosion will be on the US and UK App Store at around midnight, for 59p / 99c.
