If seeing a price tag on a game is enough to make you puke then this news is for you.

Developer Bit By Bit Games has released a free version of its Bronze Award-winning sim MMA Manager.

That's good of them, you might say, but what's the catch? There's always a catch ... isn't there?

Okay, look, the studio has given three reasons for making a free version of MMA Manager available. These should ease your fear:

1) Player feedback has been so positive that the team has grown confidence to reach a wider audience

2) It's a pricing experiment and the team thinks the ads have been integrated so it's not intrusive

3) The game hasn't sold as well as was hoped so it needs a boost

There you go. Are you less skeptical now? More willing to give the game a look knowing that it won't reach out of your phone with big burly arms and strangle you?

In any case, our reviewer said that MMA Manager is "an MMA simulator as beautiful as the bloody and bruised fighters it celebrates" but "is nevertheless fun and well-constructed."

We recommended it at the full price of £2.99 / $3.99. But if that's too much then now you can grab the free version over on the App Store and Google Play.

And, yes, the full-price versions are still available on the App Store and Google Play. It's great to have a choice, huh?
