One of our jobs here at Pocket Gamer is to sieve through the hundreds of apps that hit the App Store and Google Play every single day, and unearth those glittering gems.

Lately, though, we've been giving you the chance to have YOUR say, too. Basically, we've been giving you the opportunity to tell us your favourite game from a shortlist of the week's best releases.

This week's votes have been counted (and recounted), and we have a winner: Life is Magic.

Life is Magic is a colourful location-based MMORPG that transforms the world around you into a fantasy kingdom full of brave warriors and glittering treasures.

In this Bronze Award-winning title, you team up with a powerful wizard called Isambard, and set off on a peril-filled fantasy adventure to exert influence over neighbouring realms.

Your aim, then, is to explore real-world towns and cities for treasure chests and dungeons that house spells, weaponry, and bucket loads of ugly monsters.

The older the better

It's in these dungeons that Life is Magic begins to shine.

Each dungeon is made up of various floors and each floor consists of a single turn-based battle, which you can tackle on your own or as part of a team.

If you successfully clear a floor of the scum that inhabits it, you have to choose whether to risk the rewards you've already collected and explore deeper levels or get your backside to safety.

Naturally, battles in this RPG start out as pretty simple affairs, but quickly become more challenging as you explore bigger and more dangerous caverns.

Sound good? You can download Life is Magic from the App Store right now for free.
