Xbox Live’s Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light hits iPhone
Update: We've now included information on the HD edition for iPad

The busty archaeological princess may be getting a facelift and a canon reboot in her next console game, but there’s still time to take the current Ms Croft on a journey in this newly released iPhone and iPad game.

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is out now in New Zealand.

The game, previously released on Xbox Live Arcade, has Lara hunting down an accidentally released Mayan war god in the hope of chucking the furious deity back into his magical time portal before he has time to destroy the world.

It plays from an isometric perspective, as you gun down enemies and solve puzzles across the continent. You’ll also team up with Totec, another Mesoamerican god who was woken up in the kerfuffle, who will help you on your quest. In fact, you can team up with a buddy and play as Lara and Totec in co-op.

Thanks to Square Enix’s mercilessly brief App description, that’s about all we know right now. We’ll find out more when the game hits international App Stores from midnight.

The iPhone version will cost £3.99 / $6.99 / €5.49, while the HD iPad edition will set you back £5.99 / $9.99 / €7.99.
