Tower defence sequel Kingdom Rush: Frontiers will storm the App Store on June 6th

If you've ever wondered what lies on the fringes of the Kingdom Rush universe, away from the medieval knights and their stony castles, then you've not got long to wait to find out.

That's because Kingdom Rush: Frontiers will storm the App Store on June 6th. And, yep, it's going to feature a whole swathe of new enemies, towers, and terrains to sate your tower-defending thirst.

The game has been rumoured for a while, with teaser images appearing at the start of the year that pointed to a, well, sandier sort of game than the first Kingdom Rush.

As you can tell from the trailer above, Ironhide Game Studio is definitely pushing the envelope in Kingdom Rush: Frontiers. It looks like it'll be just as deep as its highly addictive predecessor.

So, there will be pirates, brooding princes, massive boss battles, a whole bunch of new towers, and new types of terrain for you to scrap over.

We were big fans of the original game, giving it a Gold Award and saying that "Kingdom Rush breathes new life into the tower defence genre, and has a whole lot of laughs doing it".

We've no word yet on pricing for Kingdom Rush: Frontiers, but we'll update this story if we do find that out between now and June 6th.
