Indie iPhone Holiday Sale raises $4,900 in 36 hours; looking to raise a lot more

In a move similar to the PC Humble Indie Bundle, six iPhone developers have cut the prices of their games to 99c, with a third of the money generated being given to Child's Play.

It's a game-inspired non profit organisation, run by Penny Arcade that gives games, consoles, and toys to sick and hospitalised kids around the globe.

And the initiative appears to be working well.

Dig deep

Since Osmos, Drop7, Spider: The Secret of Bryce Manor, Canabalt, Eliss and Solipskier cut their prices on December 21, $4,900 has been raised.

You buy the games direct from the App Store - as per usual - while you can check out the Indie iPhone Holiday Sale's website for more details, a running total of the money raised and free ringtones and wallpapers.

The games will remain on sale until December 31. Go, go gadget generosity.
