Joe, Murr, Sal and Q -- four guys with an unwavering passion for embarrassing each other in public. The naughty quartet made their name in truTV’s hit TV show Impractical Jokers, in which they challenge each other to commit public pranks of ever-increasing stakes. Now, thanks to developer Built Games and truTV, the boys have their very own mobile game: Impractical Jokers - Wheel of Doom.
Fans of the show may already be familiar with the Wheel of Doom -- a take on the Wheel of Fortune format, where one of the four has to enact whichever dastardly dare the wheel lands on. In the mobile game, the colourful dodecagon is divided up into 12 mini-games, from a Frogger homage called Mimer to a table-waiting tapper called Scoopski Potatoes. Each is themed around various pranks and punishments featured on the show, but with a fun arcade twist. Spin to see which one you'll be challenged with and aim to unlock 4 additional game modes: Alter Ego, Joker, Scoopski and Staten Island.
Although Wheel of Doom is laden with references to Impractical Jokers fans will love, you don't need to be a follower of the show to enjoy yourself. The mini-games are silly enough and tricky enough to appeal to anybody into lighthearted, retro-style games. The bright, 16-bit graphics give everything an appealing throwback veneer -- it's like your phone is channeling the Sega Mega Drive.
