Hyperlight first blasted onto iOS and Android way back in 2011, earning a Silver Award for its unique crash-heavy take on the neon shmup. Now, after coming to 3DS last year, a expanded and visually improved edition is available on mobile.

In Hyperlight, you have no projectile weapons. Instead, your ship is the weapon, exploding into faster-than-light speed to obliterate enemies on contact. The catch is the limited FTL fuel at your disposal, meaning you'll have to dodge, evade, and flee with precision until the best moments to crash through surrounding ships.

Power-ups and bonus weapons such as the Laser or Virus help turn the tides of battles when the screen gets too hectic.

You can test your skills in 50 Arcade stages, an endless mode with challenging bosses, and the frenetic Panic mode, while refining your scores to rise up the leaderboards and earn achievements.

Hyperlight EX is available at a discounted launch price of £0.99 / $0.99 on the App Store and Google Play.
