I am hungry. I have been thinking about eating for several hours this morning already. I was going to have bacon and eggs, but the eggs were past their best before date and I couldn't think of anything else to go with bacon.

Instead, I've sat down and played Hungry Dragon, Ubisoft's latest mobile title, which takes a few queues from their popular hungry shark.

Here you'll be swopping down as a fire breathing lizard and eating an awful lot of birds, sheep, goblins, people, you name it. And all you need to get good is our tips below. Read on, and eat until you're full.

Size matters

The size of your lizard is going to have an effect on a lot of things in your life. How you fly, how you mingle, how you eat, what you eat…

But if you've been conscious about your dragon's size before, you might be glad to know that bigger isn't always better. Yes, in Hungry Dragon you get six sizes of dragons to slowly unlock and play with, each with more eating capacity than before.

You'll start off by eating small birds, and certain creatures can't be eaten and doors can't be broken without more size. As you get bigger dragons, more of the stage opens up to you.

Always hungry

Dragons have a literal fire in their belly, and something needs to keep that fire burning. In this case, it's the corpses of animals.

In order to keep flying, you need to have a full stomach, so make sure to keep eating birds and other creatures that fly in the sky, but also grab sheep and people that will be on the ground.

You can continue to explore different paths in this Metroidvania-style game world and as you grow and eat, even more will open up.

Fresh BBQ

Something about the taste and smell of charcoal on my food that I just adore, and when you're lacking charcoal, a dragon's flammable gases are a good option.

Once you reach a certain critical mass, or eat a red hot chili, you'll start spewing fire, burning up birds, sheep, people, pretty much anything and everything.

During this time, things you burn will combust into coins, and you'll be able to load of on cash for your next unlocks.

Precious pets

As you move through the world you'll sometimes find eggs, which will hatch small pets out of them for your to collect.

Collection aside, pets can also help you while flying through the world. Pets can give you passive buffs, like 10% more food, boost or health, and can also attack enemies and creatures for more points.

Larger dragons can even fly with more pets than smaller dragons, allowing you to really roll out with an entire posse.
