Free-to-play 'social endless runner' Hunger Games: Panem Run sprints on iPad, iPhone, and Android

Lionsgate has launched Hunger Games: Catching Fire - Panem Run on iOS and Android to coincide with Catching Fire hitting movie theaters today.

It's a typical endless runner, where you dash through randomly generated districts of Panem while being chased by Tracker Jackers.

You'll have to collect materials and sparks while dodging hazards. There are also bonus sections in which you shoot targets with a bow and arrow.

The materials you collect can be spent on upgrading power ups and crafting specialty arrows for extra bonuses.

Lionsgate describes Panem Run as a "social endless runner". So, by connecting to Facebook, can race friends and trade materials with them.

Panem Run is free-to-play and you can download it right now on the App Store [download] or Google Play [download]. Currently there are only three districts to run through, but more will be added to the game soon.

In-app purchases offer more in-game coins for real cash, or you can get a small amount by watching a promotional video. Coins are used to purchase extra lives to continue running, and can be spent on speeding up crafting and upgrading processes.
