Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery finally releases later this month on iOS and Android

Unless you've been living under a rock these past few months, you'll know that Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery has been soft launched in a few countries on Android. Now we finally know that it's coming to mobile on April 25th, later this month.

Together with Warner Bros. Entertainment, Jam City is bringing us a new, magical experience. Create your own witch or wizard and experience life as a Hogwarts student. Go to class, learn magic, make friends, cast spells, and more in this narrative adventure.

A couple of months back when we first got a good look at some proper gameplay, fans were a little bit divided by it. Some were excited and others were hesitant about its free-to-play status, and that's totally understandable. Though we ultimately had high hopes for the game, we also had our own concerns about it.
Interestingly, a good few of the familiar cast will actually be voiced by the actors themselves. For example, Maggie Smith will be returning to her role as Professor McGonagall, Michael Gambon breathes life back into Professor Dumbledore, and more.

"Our goal with Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is to make players really feel for the first time like they're attending Hogwarts," said Chris DeWolfe, co-founder/CEO of Jam City. "By including these iconic and incredibly talented actors in the game, we come one step closer to truly giving fans their own Hogwarts experience."

Then there's my personal favourite quote from Dame Maggie Smith - "If I could attend Hogwarts as a student, I would be most excited to attend the potions class taught by Severus because it is the most exotic."

Oh, and just for fun, check out this wonderful, satirical article where Harry Slater walks us through what he thinks.
