As the developer behind such successful iPhone games as Ragdoll Blaster and Paper Toss, it's always worth checking out what's new from Backflip Studios.

It's particularly the case in terms of Harbor Havoc 3D, a game which Backflip CEO Julian Farrior reckons will extend the line drawing genre thanks to its multiple layers, obscured gameplay view, and scenes rendered in 3D.

Your task is to make sure the various boats, submarines and helicopters all make it to their respective ports without crashing into each other vessels operating on the same level.

You can see how it works in the following video.

"We also saw a compelling way to expand this genre while retaining the simplicity that made the original so successful, and in the process adding our own signature," says Farrior, of the inspiration behind the game.

It also supports the Plus+ social network, as well as Facebook and Twitter, in terms of those all-important global high score tables.

Harbor Havoc 3D is out now, priced $1.99, €1.59 or £1.19. Hit the Buy It! button to go direct to the App Store.
