We've all been concerned about the disturbing lack of hamsters on the iPhone, so it's good to know we can finally relax and welcome Hamster Dash to the App Store.

This appears to be a superbly imaginative take on the old Pipe Mania concept; replacing the ever encroaching water level with an incessantly scurrying hamster. Rotating the tubes to make a continuous play-maze for the rascally rodent is the basis of the game, and with randomly generated content (which apparently still features the ability to increase the difficulty level as you progress) there should be no shortage of challenges. The accelerometer also comes into play by allowing you to affect the hamster's speed by tipping the handset.

Scamper on over to the App Store to check it out (click 'Buy It!' below), and don't forget to nibble the 'Track It!' button on your way past.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
