CD Projekt Red are now accepting sign-ups for a Closed Beta of their upcoming iOS version of Gwent with limited spaces

CD Projekt Red will start an iOS Closed Beta for their upcoming mobile port of Gwent. The Beta will start Tuesday, October 15th and you can sign up now via the official website, though you will need an email address that's associated with a GOG account, which you can get for free.

The number of participants will be limited and CD Project Red say that participants will be chosen on a first-come, first-served basis. So sign up as soon as you can if you don't want to wait until October 29th for the full release of the game. An end date for the closed beta will be announced another time.

To play Gwent, you'll need to have an Apple Device that is one of the following or newer:

  • iPhone 6S
  • iPad Mini 4
  • iPad 5th Gen
  • iPad Air 2
  • Any iPad Pro

Players that currently play the PC version of Gwent will be able to carry their progress to the mobile version of the game too. Unfortunately, this doesn't extend to the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game, so you'll have to start over again if you want to take Gwent on the road with you.

The official site also has an option to sign up for information about Android specifically, which means we'll most likely see a port of The Witcher card come to Android devices at some stage as well. This was already known by our sister site Pocketgamer.biz who reported an Android version was in the works earlier this year but it's nice to see it reaffirmed.

Gwent will be available for iOS on the 29th October while this closed beta will start on 15th October. You can sign up for the beta over on the official website or simply pre-order the game on the App Store if you're quite happy to wait for the full release of the game.
