Ten months after launching sleepy tropical island wander-'em-up Lili on the App Store, developer BitMonster has unveiled a follow-up that's so different you'd be surprised the two games are made by the same company.

Enter iOS-exclusive Gunner Z, a night vision turret shooter that's set in a dark and grim zombie apocalypse.

Your job is to create and customise a garage full of trucks that carry remotely operated weapons on extendable crane boom arms.

As those trucks are driven through the city, you'll aim, raise, and lower those guns to clear out buildings and rake fire across the rooftops.

You'll be killing zombies for the millionth time, sure, but these are huge biological beasts, manufactured by some evil scientists.

Those baddies will also attack you with remotely operated mechanised units such as aerial drones, tracked RPG turrets, APCs, tanks, and more.

BitMonster will once again turn to Unreal Engine 3 to crank out some gorgeous visuals. All six developers at the studio previously worked at Unreal Engine 3 creator Epic Games, so they know their way around the engine.

Gunner Z should go live on the App Store this summer. In fact, BitMonster's Lee Perry told Pocket Gamer that it will be available "very soon indeed".
