GravityLine might look soft and welcoming at first glance, but once you've played it a few times it becomes obvious that it's anything but.

This is cruel, confusing game that demands you pay the highest attention at all times. A single lapse, a single miss-pressed button, and the bacterial blob you're controlling will plummet to its death.

There's not a great deal of content here, but what GravityLine offers is hard and unforgiving.

Sometimes, though, that means it's not very much fun.

99.9%

The game sees you playing as a rolling bacterium. It's your job to lead this blob of green disease through the structure of an item so you can extract it and find a cure.

You get two buttons to do this with. One flips the blob to the other side of the line it's rolling on, the other swaps gravity and sends it plummeting away from what seconds ago was the floor.

It's essentially a puzzling auto-runner. The levels are the same every time you play them, so you need to remember the patterns and react accordingly.

That's much, much easier said than done though. The game drops combinations of obstacles into your path that require deft finger-work. It's rarely clear for the first few tries of a level how you're supposed to get past some of the challenges.

Think quicker

It makes for a slightly uneven experience. You'll learn some sections pretty quickly, only to grind through them over and over to get to new chunks you can't quite fathom out.

There's fun to be had here, and when the game starts to click and you're twisting your way through complex structures you can't help but smile.

It's just a shame that the game doesn't give you a slightly easier route to get there.

If you're looking for a challenge you'll find one here in spades, but you get the feeling GravityLine could have been made more accessible without losing that razor sharp difficulty.

GravityLine

A harsh and unforgiving game, GravityLine has its moments, but getting to them is pretty tough
