It's a nice thought, but let's not get too excited just yet

Analyst speculates wildly on Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown War for iPhone

The games industry panics when Grand Theft Auto hasn't been in the news for a couple of days. It worries that people are going to resort to watching TV or going outdoors if there's no fresh news on simulated vehicular homicide. Fortunately, the industry is safe for one more day thanks to a hot new GTA rumour.

According to GameDaily, analyst Mike Hickey over at Janco Partners has speculated that Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars - due out for the DS very shortly - is likely to appear on the iPhone.

"We expect GTA will likely be ported to Apple's iPhone platform, leveraging the device's touch screen technology and accelerometer. Apple's determination to layer gaming applications into the device's consumer value proposition and growing installed base is likely sufficient motivation for a deal," his latest report states.

Phew! And we thought there'd be no GTA news at all today. Back from the brink of economic collapse for one more day.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
