Backflip draws funky lines in physics game Graffiti Ball

There have been plenty of physics-based games that utilise the iPhone's touchscreen to get you to draw lines and items. Touch Physics springs to mind.

So while Backflip's Graffiti Ball isn't original, it does bring a specific slant to the genre. Based around a graffiti theme, you have to draw - or spray - lines on the wall to get a bouncing ball to each level's exit or Win point as quickly as possible.

There are 100 levels, split across Chicago and Brooklyn (easy) to Tokyo (hard).

Priceless

As tends to be the way with Backflip games, it's also free, using iAd if you're in North America or standard banners if you're elsewhere in the world.

If you want to remove them, the upgrade, delivered as an in-app purchase, costs 99c, €0.79 or 59p.

Despite being free, though, what really impresses about Graffiti Ball is the quality of the experience.

The graphics, music, and physics are great, and with each level time-based there's plenty of opportunity for replayability. Indeed, with time bonus scattered around many levels, you'll have to experiment to find the fastest routes.

To fully rank your performance, the game uses OpenFeint for leaderboards and you can also email specific level challenges to your friends.

Graffiti Ball is out now. You can see how it plays in the following video.
