Does that count as crossing the streams?

Capcom announces Ghostbusters Puzzle Fighter for iOS, out this June

Capcom has revealed that it's publishing a new Ghostbusters game on iOS this June called Ghostbusters Puzzle Fighter.

It's being developed by Beeline who, most relevant to this, produced the not-so-great freemium Ghostbusters mobile game that came out in 2013.

However, fears of this upcoming game being just as bad as that one might be slightly alleviated by Capcom putting the "Puzzle Fighter" name to it.

Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo got a Bronze Award from us so maybe Ghostbusters Puzzle Fighter will be more on par with that. One can only hope.

As the Puzzle Fighter name implies, it mixes fighting games with puzzle solving, but it seems Ghostbusters Puzzle Fighter will be slightly different.

According to Capcom, it's closer to a mix of puzzler, card game, and RPG. No mention of fighting games at all. As you can see in the screenshots (above) it looks to be closer to a standard match-3 puzzler than anything.

The publisher also said that the game will have you collecting characters from the Ghostbusters universe to form into teams.

The most unusual part is that your team can be made up of Ghostbusters and ghosts.

Unfortunately, nothing else was revealed so far. So we'll have to wait until closer to June's arrival to find out more.
