Garena Free Fire is set to celebrate the Lunar New Year with a host of special events, game modes, challenges, and exclusive rewards. The Lunar Festival launches next Monday, January 20th, and it sound like a pretty good time.

You can now pre-register and warm-up for the event by completing both daily and cumulative challenges to earn neat rewards. Limited-time modes will also be available in the leadup to the event, and it's said to be an ideal opportunity to collect a ton of handy gun boxes and loot crates.

If you do pre-register, you'll be eligible to receive an exclusive profile picture and banner once the Lunar Festival begins. The event will bring back the fan-favourite Dynastic Warlord costume and New Year MP40 gun boxes that you might have missed the first time around. You'll be able to earn these by redeeming tokens earned through completing challenges.

On top of those rewards, you can also nab yourself a pet panda in full camo, wearing a gold chain and bullet belt. If you'd rather just purchase the Dynastic Warlord costume from the skin store, you can of course do so.

Special Lunar New Year skins will be added during the event. These include the Duo Royale set (Lee the Dragon & Tang the Assassin) and the Nerves of Steel set (The Nian Beast).

We recently interviewed Harold Teo, Free Fire Producer at Garena, about the game's ongoing popularity and plans for the future. Be sure to check it out if you're a fan of the game and follow its esports scene.

Those who haven't yet given Garena Free Fire a go will find it available from both the App Store and Google Play. It's one of the biggest games in the world right now and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
