After a triumphant comeback in the final round, team Corinthians was crowned the victor of this year's Free Fire World Series. The event took place over the weekend at the Barra Olympic Park in Rio de Janeiro.

The Brazilian team outplayed 11 other top teams from across the world to win a cash prize of $200,000. The event was livestreamed over YouTube, where it attracted more than 2 million concurrent viewers at its peak. This, according to Esports Charts, is a new world record for a mobile esports tournament. In total, the World Series racked up over 100 million online views.

Brazil's very own DJ Alok kicked off the event in style, performing his recently released Vale Vale track. If you didn't know, he's Garena Free Fire's first resident DJ. He's also a playable character with some handy health-buffing abilities.

Garena has now confirmed that the Free Fire World Series 2020 will take place in Jakarta, Indonesia. Free Fire continues to be one of the biggest names in gaming, ranking among the top five most downloaded mobile games globally for the third straight quarter across the App Store and Google Play combined, according to App Annie.
