Gangstar: West Coast Hustle priced and dated

We're really looking forward to Gameloft's GTA-inspired free roaming Gangstar: West Coast Hustle.

A couple of weeks ago, I had a hands on with the game, and apart from some issues with pop-ups, it was an impressive experience, with great graphics and all the usual urban mayhem you'd expect.

And we won't have long to wait for its release either.

Gameloft has announced it will be out the end of August - i.e. it's been submitted to Apple for approval.

Of course, any game that lets you run over and shoot down innocent pedestrians is going to get a hefty age rating, but without the prostitutes or Hot Coffee antics of Grand Theft Auto, there should be no reason Gangstar: West Coast Hustle is held up by Apple's censors.

As for its cost, we're surprised such a big and obviously expensive-to-make game is being released at $6.99, €5.49 and £3.99. It might not be what other developers and publishers want to see, but it will obviously save us some money.

While you're waiting, you can check out our various hands on features - one from me here, and one from Tracy.

There's also video footage here.
