iOS and Android Game of the Week - your vote needed
|

Each week, thousands of new games hit the iOS App Store and Google Play on Android. Trying to separate the good from the bad (and the ugly) is a tough job, and no mistake.

We like to think that we do a rather good job of it with our news articles, mid-week round-ups, reviews, and features, mind.

But, we want to know what you think.

Today, we're asking you to pick the best game that was released on iOS and Android this week (from some nominations), and then we'll present that winner in an article next Monday.

There are loads of places to vote. Leave a comment on this article, reply to our Game of the Week tweet, leave a comment on Facebook, or just scream it into the void.

The nominations

Angry Birds Star Wars (iPhone, iPad, Android)

This latest instalment in the Angry Birds franchise once again sees Rovio's miffed avians battle it out with piggies. This time around, though, the birds boast lightsabers.

Curiosity (iPhone, iPad, Android)

Peter Molyneux's Curiosity is less of a game and more a social experiment. It tasks you, and thousands of other players from around the world, with chipping away at a cube to find a secret inside.

Skylanders: Lost Islands (iPhone, iPad)

Return the lands of Mabu back to their former glory by building a picturesque home that's fit for no fewer than 35 magical Skylanders.

Storm the Train
(iPhone, iPad)

Climb onboard a speeding train and mercilessly wipe out the hordes of vampires, robots, and ninjas that inhabit it. Steven Seagal eat your heart out.

Swipe the Deck
(iPhone, iPad)

An intriguing mix of poker and match-three puzzle games. Compete against your friends and create poker hands by moving and switching cards on a 7x7 grid.
Wraithborne (iPhone, iPad)

Grab the sword of an experienced warrior and save the world from wraiths, goblins, and werewolves in this Dungeon Hunter-esque action title.
EEK! (iPhone, iPad)

Your aim in this fast-paced arcade title from On The Wind developer Don't Step On The Cracks, is to navigate a spaceship around dangerous asteroids and powerful explosions.

Waking Mars (Android) One part Metroid, one part 1970s-era sci-fi film, and one part gardening. Waking Mars is a game all about mastering an alien ecosystem in order to survive.

Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcery EP (Android) This pixel-art adventure follows a warrior monk as she attempts to complete a pesky errand in a world that's affected by real-world moon phases.
Splice: Tree of Life (Android) This "experimental and artistic" puzzle game tasks you with moving cells into a target structure in a set number of turns. Cells mutate as you play, so you have to think a few steps ahead.
