Remember, remember, the best games of November. That's what we intend to do with this here feature.

November was a pretty jam packed month, what with Thanksgiving and Black Friday and all that jazz. But it was also full of brilliant iOS and Android games.

Indeed, we gave all but one of the games below a 9/10 Gold Award. Now that's some consistent quality.

Here are ten great games that launched over the past 30 days or so. Let us know in the comments if you've been playing anything different.

Genre: Tower defence

Kingdom Rush Vengeance

The long-awaited return of Kingdom Rush brought more of the same tower defence magic, but we were perfectly fine with that. No one does TD like Ironhide.

This one lets you play as the bad guys, which is a nice twist. A couple of tweaks to the tower and hero systems make this a must-buy, even if you've rinsed the earlier games.

2
Sky Gamblers: Storm Raiders 2

Publisher: Atypical Games
Available on: iOS

Sky Gamblers: Storm Raiders 2 is a mighty handsome game, in pretty much every sense of the word.

3
See/saw

Publisher: Philipp Stollenmayer
Available on: iOS
Genre: Platform
Find out more about See/saw
See/saw

A brilliantly condensed 2D platformer that calls to mind greats such as Super Meat Boy and N++. There's a similarly fiendish, finely honed feel to its bite-sized platforming challenges.

Indeed, See/saw goes one step further and removes the jump button altogether. Despite this, you'll need a high degree of skill and persistence to get through the game.

4
Football Manager 2019 Touch

Football Manager 2019 Touch

It's another entry in the formidably deep Football Manager series, which automatically makes this the best sports management game on mobile.

Sports Interactive has improved the general flow of the game with some smartened up input screens, resulting in a game that's a little easier to play and enjoy on a tablet.

5
Black Paradox

Available on: iOS
Genre: Action

Black Paradox

There's a lot more to Black Paradox than its simple pixel-art looks might suggest. It's actually a fascinating roguelike shooter with a bunch of great new ideas and oodles of weapons.

It's a total blast to play, and has a surprising amount of legs for a classic 2D shooter.

6
Slydris 2

Publisher: Radiangames
Available on: iOS + Board Game
Genre: Puzzle

Slydris 2

They say you should never mess with the classics. Thank goodness Radiangames didn't listen to that particular piece of advice.

Slydris 2 takes Tetris, carefully deconstructs it, and rebuilds it with a more strategic and mobile-friendly approach. The result is a tactical puzzler masterpiece.

7
Spitkiss

Publisher: Plug In Digital
Available on: iOS + Android
Find out more about Spitkiss
Spitkiss

A wonderfully gross game all about swapping saliva. It marries twangy Angry Birds-like mechanics with a delightfully odd aesthetic and some ingenious single-screen puzzles.

It's a simple game that also manages to tell an affecting tale about modern relationships.

8
Into the Dark: Narakan

Available on: iOS
Genre: Action, Hardcore, RPG
Find out more about Into the Dark: Narakan
Into the Dark: Narakan

Into the Dark: Narakan is a very accomplished indie rogue-like with a striking abstract art style. You must carefully explore each grid-like level, engaging in sword fights and obtaining memories.

The range of weapons and spells on offer here feels really empowering, while there's a wonderful story tying all the randomised mayhem together.

9
Golf Peaks

Developer: Afterburn
Publisher: Afterburn
Available on: iOS + Android
Genre: Casual, Puzzle, Sports
Find out more about Golf Peaks
Golf Peaks

Despite how it looks, Golf Peaks isn't a golf game. It's a turn-based strategy card game that just happens to adopt the components of golf - and it's really rather good.

You play your varied move cards to shunt the ball towards the hole with mathematical precision, taking note of the environmental hazards along the way.

10
Blackmooor 2

Available on: iOS
Find out more about Blackmoor 2
Blackmoor 2

This marvellous side-scrolling hack and slash platformer provides more than enough fresh ideas to stand out in a crowded field.

While the side-scrolling action is fairly by the book, the sheer variety of enemies is a notable plus, while the pace is spot on.

Jon Mundy
Jon is a consummate expert in adventure, action, and sports games. Which is just as well, as in real life he's timid, lazy, and unfit. It's amazing how these things even themselves out.
