Best iOS and Android updates this week - Fortnite, PUBG Mobile, Dead Trigger 2, and more
Making it greater
Wednesday has crept about and if you're long-term Pocket Gamer readers you'll know what that means.
Some games may seem pretty perfect, but sometimes an excellent update is just what's needed to make a fantastic game even better. Whether it's new content, necessary fixes, limited events, or more, here's what's going on this week in the world of mobile gaming updates.
1
ARK: Survival Evolved
ARK's latest update focusses on single-player difficulty and survival modes. Whether you want to play casually (and keep your items on dying) or be super hardcore and risk losing everything, it's right there for the taking.
There's also a few changes, including some crash fixes, the Iguanadon joining the mix, enforced 15-minute cooldown on revival, and a new item in the cuddle bear folder.
2
Chapters: Interactive Stories
If you've been waiting for new tales to work through, this is the update for you. With three primary stories added into the catalogue, you can dig into brand new fantasy, romance, and more.
Dusk Until Dawn features Damian Weiss after he moves into the mansion across the street (as you do). Of course, he's brooding, handsome, secretive, and you can't help but fancy him a bit. Heart of Stone and Spring at Blueberry Bay have also been highlighted, though they did come out a few weeks ago.

Dead Trigger 2
If you caught our article earlier this week you'll know that Dead Trigger 2 had a major update to celebrate 100 million downloads in version 1.5.0.
In it you've got a bunch of new content, including three environments and 25 gameplay objectives, two new free weapons, a whole host of features, gameplay modes, and more. Check out more detail right here.
5
Faraway 2
While it may have gone live a couple of weeks ago, it's worth reminding you that this stylish puzzler got two new free levels for you to dig into.
You just need to find missing diary notes to unlock the levels. You can find them in the 'Bonus' section in level select to pick them up. Let's hope there's even more on the way.
6
Fortnite
Even if you've not got your hands on Port-a-Fort in the first place, you'll be happy to know she's just gotten even bigger. The Port-a-Fortress is an absolute monster. If you're in a pickle you can now save your butts by chucking one of these instant fortresses in the mix.
Expert builders feel free to smile 'cos turbo building is also back in action. Ready, set, BUILD LIKE A MOTHER.
7
Hyperforma
- Platform: iOS
If you've been following Hyperforma closely, you'll be able to get a little more out of the game. You've had five new chapters for a while, including more varied levels, new bosses, new mechanics, and a cracking finale.
This time you've got a new design of the final scenes, a title sequence, some minor skill changes, and performance fixes.
8
Isoland 2
As one of the most obscure updates of the week so far, this latest Isoland 2 update brings an Isoland 2/The Greedy Cave Collaborative Edition.
Though I'm not sure what this means exactly, there's a fancy achievement you can get by taking part in it. Mmm, delicious, delicious achievements.
9
PUBG Mobile
In case you missed it, PUBG Mobile's newest update is a biggie as the new map, Sanhok, arrives with bells on. Get ready to fight beside some of your besties or solo in the rainforest and enjoy the new weapons and vehicles that come with it.
A few tweaks include, customisable pick-ups (meaning you can specify pick-up quantities), more achievements, Clan-related perks, titles, and rankings, anti-cheat measures, and more.
10
Sonic Forces
This one skipped past us before, but Sonic Forces has a brand-new runner you can get your hands on – Wave the Swallow.
Alongside this you've also got two reverse tracks, Pyramid Valley R and Celestial Skyway R, to play about in. Plus, Korean language is now supported, so that's always a win.
