Gather round, I'm going to tell you a story.

There was once a time, throughout most of the lifespan of the PlayStation 2, when horror games were trying some super interesting things.

Silent Hill 2, 3, and 4, for example, were all masterpieces of psychological manipulation that took the genre in increasingly uncomfortable directions, while Forbidden Siren brought in a lot of disturbing imagery and more mind trickery.

Horror games have never ever been better than they were at that time, and I think Psychoz Interactive 100 percent gets that.

It would certainly explain why the team has made Forgotten Memories, a deeply chilling horror adventure that, even in the early form I've been playing, has all of the hallmarks of those classics, while avoiding being a plain copy.

I can't wait for its full release, which should be some time in 2015. It'll be available on iOS and Vita, plus Steam and Wii U.
