Font Mystery challenges your pop culture recognition

If you’re a fan of Logo Quiz, this is for you

Font Mystery challenges your pop culture recognition

Back in the 90s, a guy in Vermont named Doug created the FFD Neuland Inline font. Then Jurassic Park happened, and that iconic tribal typeface was suddenly emblazoned across lunchboxes, t-shirts and mugs everywhere. Now, it’s impossible to imagine it being used for anything that doesn’t feature GM dinosaurs eating people.

It’s one of the more instantly recognizable fonts among the 150 featured in Font Mystery, a new app from French developer Creative Brothers. A little like Logo Quiz, Font Mystery tests your knowledge of pop culture through its collection of famous fonts.
There are over 200 levels to complete and various categories to choose from, including TV shows, films, video games, books and bands. Each stage presents you with a phrase in a black-and-white version of the font, and you have to type out your answer using the letters provided on the keyboard. The phrases are themselves clues, but if you get stuck, Font Mystery offers some extra hints to help you. There are also different levels of difficulty and achievements to unlock, so you can put your powers of pop culture recognition to the ultimate test.
