Two million copies of iPhone and iPod touch casual classic Flight Control have been sold, making it one of the best-selling titles ever on the platform.

Since its release last spring, the game has received tremendous praise for clever utilisation of multi-touch for simple, accessible gameplay.

We even named it as one of the best iPhone games of 2009.

Flight Control is the second game on the App Store to have surpassed the 2 million mark; Pocket God was the first, having eclipsed the number earlier this month.

Since it's March release, the game has sold on average 6,000 copies per day. On Christmas Day along 20,000 copies were sold.

Firemint CEO Robert Murray was understandably excited about the news, yet decidedly humble. "Flight Control has been an incredible success for us, and we owe that to the way people around the world have embraced it."

Flight Control is available now for iPhone and iPod touch at a price of 59p/99c.
