For reasons that escape me, everyone likes Flappy Bird.

It's a game about a flappy bird flying through pipes and dying all the time because you're rubbish at tapping.

At the moment, it's one of the most popular games on the App Store. Lo and behold, it's just swooped onto the Google Play Store, too. Soon, for whatever reason, it will rule the world.

Not without controversy, though. You see, a groundswell of eagle-eyed gamers has noticed that the Android version of Flappy Bird is easier than its iOS cousin.

According to a member of the game's development team on Twitter, this was done on purpose. A patch for the iOS version of Flappy Bird is in the works to redress that imbalance.

Should you fancy tapping an avian so that it flies through some gaps in Mario-style pipes, pop on over to the Google Play Store and grab Flappy Bird for nowt [download].

Or pop on over to the App Store and do approximately the very same thing [download].
