Final Fantasy Tactics iOS gets spiffy new visuals and a big price cut

Square Enix has slashed the price of PSP port Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of The Lions on iOS and updated the game with new art and iCloud support.

In version 1.2 of this tactical RPG, then, Squeenix has redrawn all of the unit graphics in high resolution.

Plus, the studio has optimised the game's drawing processes for mobile devices.

"Say goodbye to choppy motion and crash bugs," Square Enix states in the game's App Store description, "and play with the quickest, smoothest abilities effects and animations to date".

Square Enix has also added iCloud support to Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of The Lions, meaning you can now sync your save data between multiple iOS devices. So, you can kick off the Ivalice saga on your iPhone, and finish it on your iPad.

To celebrate this major update, Square Enix has cut the app's price from £11 / $16 to £5.49 / $7.99 on iPhone, and from £13 / $18 to £5.99 / $8.99 on iPad.

In our original review of Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of The Lions, we gave it a Bronze Award and dubbed it "a huge, immersive experience that suffers because it doesn't bend to the whims and needs of the hardware it's being played on."
