EA has had to remove its social football title FIFA Superstars from the App Store pitch following a spell of connection problems.

Talking to Mobile Entertainment, the publisher stated, "We are currently experiencing server issues with FIFA Superstars mobile that have required us to temporarily take the game down. This is not a data security-related issue.

"We are implementing a solution that will ensure users have the best gameplay experience, and will provide an update soon as to when the game will be live again."

EA is quick to stress that the Facebook version of its game - which now has around 2.8 million monthly active users - is not affected by the issues.

If you absolutely can't wait for Messi, Agüero, Rooney, and co. to make their way back onto the App Store, you can play FIFA Superstars on Facebook by clicking this link.
