Speaking to Pocket Gamer at E3 this year, Product Marketing Manager for the mobile iteration of FIFA 13, Lucian Cotreanti, said that the ability to start a game of FIFA on console before finishing on mobile would be ‘the dream’ for the series.

Such cross-talk between mobile and console versions of the series are unlikely to happen any time soon, with both versions of FIFA 13 confirmed as separate from each other.

The mobile version of the hit football franchise has come along leaps and bounds from its initial release, with many features from the console series such as EA Sports Football Club and Manager Mode now an intrinsic part of the massively successful series.

Playing as a team

Indeed, EA Sports Football Club is the first indication of a possibly cross-platform future for the franchise, as both mobile and console versions of the title will feed into the same leaderboards and XP counter.

FIFA 13 is due out on iOS later this year. We'll have a preview of the game up on site soon.
