FIFA 10 kicks off on iPhone October 2
In exactly a week's time,
FIFA 10 will appear for sale on the App Store Friday, October 2 says EA Mobile.
No price has been announced for the game, though we anticipate a £5.99/$9.99 sticker. It's likely a first day sale will lower the price a few marks in following the
Madden NFL 10 strategy.
As we noted in
our hands on preview,
FIFA 10 looks to be a serious competitor to
Real Football 2010 with lavish attention to detail and more realistic play.
Full commentary, a licensed soundtrack, and authentic leagues, teams, and players certainly give
FIFA 10 an edge over its rival. EA Mobile boasts that the game contains 30 leagues, 570 teams, and 12,620 players.
Of particular note is the new Be A Pro mode that has you controlling an individual player across multiple seasons. Gameloft featured a similar mode of play in its game entitled Enter the Legend.
It's not a total shutout, though, as EA Mobile has opted out of launching with online multiplayer. According to the game's product sheet, only local wi-fi matches will be supported. Not even Bluetooth play is offered.
We'll have a full review next week following the game's Friday release to the App Store.

This looks really good. Out of interest how does it compare for features compared to the DS and PSP versions?

Well, it certainly won't have the functionality of the DS or PSP... The DS has 6 buttons not including the Start, Select, and D-Pad. So doing custom passes and tricks is a lot better with a real controller feel on the DS and PSP, which is something the iPhone can't do. I have a DS, so I'll be sticking to it, even though the graphics will be better on the iphone (or so I would believe).

Was a 100% buy.. But without global online with voice chat nothing has changed since Fifa 1995.
EA are an enormous company with financial resources echoing Scrooge McDuck's frequent dive into his piles of loose golden change. So why no servers to handle global multiplayer? So, so, so bitterly disappointing. What a shame. Bluetooth schmootooth won't make up for it either. il wait for Fifa 2011 once someone at EA realizes what a missed opportunity this was...

Is there any Substitution Mode on FIFA 10 for the iPhone/iPod Touch where you can change players during the Match by seeing the Coach, Linesman and the Players who are going out and coming inside the field of play?
My second question is why the new update for X2 Football 2009 is not available on iTunes for the iPhone/iPod Touch in the United States?

EA please add UEFA Champions League and UEFA EUROPA League which should have been the most important leagues to be included on FIFA 10 for the iPhone/iPod Touch. INTERNATIONAL supposed to be WORLD CUP and also add AFRICAN NATION CUP, ASIAN NATION CUP, EUROPEAN NATION CUP and AMERICAN NATION CUP. COPA DEL REY (Spain) is another League addition needed on the FIFA 10 to make it complete. These are the only additions and updates needed on FIFA 10 within the shortest possible time. Thank you.

It's available now. At least for Mexico.
Looks great, but I prefer Maden 2010, just need Wildcat formation.
Have a nice play time.
