Ravensword: Shadowlands creator Crescent Moon Games has removed the cloaking device from its latest action-RPG. Its name? Exiles.

After immersing itself in swords and sorcery for the Ravensword series, the Crescent Moon team wanted to explore a futuristic setting for its next game.

Inspired by sci-fi movies like Dune, Blade Runner, and Starship Troopers, the team started work on Exiles, an open-world adventure game in which players explore sprawling desert exteriors and neon-lit interiors swarming with giant bugs.

Exiles was revealed at GDC 2013 late last week, where Crescent Moon founder Josh Presseisen was on hand to guide curious parties through a short pre-alpha demo.

Once the game is complete, players will be able to choose classes, manage their inventories, and blast their way through a large open world.

Regarding Exiles's release date, Presseisen told Touch Arcade that the team is "really going to try for this year".
