More than just punny, Enterchained happens to be a unique gladiatorial combat game with enough comedic trip-ups to match its bloody arena brawling.

Due for iOS and Android "in a matter of weeks", Enterchained will have you controlling two gladiators at once as they're attached to each other by a large chain.

Rather than getting in a tangle, you should aim to be resourceful, using the interlinking chain to trip up your enemies. Once they're down, you can tower over them and pierce them with your sword.

You're also able to hack and slash with both characters. Each of them can also throw their swords but will need to retrieve them in order to defend themselves.

With success comes unlocks for different fighters and weapons that you can experiment with in the colosseum. It's all about brutal combat and high scores.

The PC version of Enterchained is a local multiplayer game that tasks two players to co-ordinate their movement and attacks to stay alive.

This upcoming mobile version will be single player, though.

As we see it, the biggest worry is how well the controls work on touchscreen. Each character you control needs to be moved, to strike, and to be able to throw their sword.

Ensuring all these controls are available means that Enterchained could be very cluttered if it has virtual buttons, for instance.

Mind you, the PC version does allow for an AI partner so perhaps you'll only have to control one character after all.

Whatever the case, hopefully developer Featherweight Games will find a way to ensure Enterchained is not awkward to play on mobile.

We'll have to hang tight until it's released on iOS and Android to find out how it'll work, or how it won't. You can keep up to date with Enterchained on its official website.
