The Elder Scrolls: Blades' release date has been pushed on a week, but will that be all?

If you were looking forward to getting stuck into The Elder Scrolls: Blades this weekend, I'm afraid we've got some bad news for you. The game's release has been delayed... but only by a week, hurrah! Well, so far.

If you need a new game to play this weekend, there have been some fabulous titles released in our New iOS and Android games list.

While we're not sure why Bethesda's delayed the release, it seems from its App Store page that, aside from pushing on its pre-order date from September 1st to September 7th, it's also had a play with its file size.

The big question here is whether this is just a case of Blades needing another week for a few refinements, or whether its Autumn 2018 release window is the actual goal.

Why am I slightly skeptical? Well, there's still an early access period which hasn't been rolled out yet. Sure, it got people to sign up for the game early, but it doesn't make much sense to have an early access period and release so close together.

Unless early access was just a ploy to get you to sign up for the game (and get you on the mailing list), which I doubt.

The other reason behind my skepticism is that it's dropped out of Apple's 'Coming Soon' page, which throws up a bit of a red flag. I've got no doubt it'll be launching worldwide this year, but it might not be as early as next week.
