Project Aurora has evolved into EVE: War of Ascension as CCP Games partners with Kongregate

Kongregate is teaming up with CCP Games and PlayRaven to produce the first mobile game set in the EVE Online universe, EVE: War of Ascension. The game, which we had a chance to play at EVE Vegas 2017, was announced last year under the working title Project Aurora.

War of Ascension is a mobile MMO that’s full of all of the trappings that made the original EVE Online one of the most fascinating online experiences in recent memory. Explore the galaxy, form alliances, and scheme against your rivals as you compete to collect mysterious relics that will help you become the most powerful corporation in the galaxy.

CCP and PlayRaven designed the game to appeal to a wider audience while maintaining the spirit of EVE Online. Having played a pre-alpha build, we felt that the developers had done great work on that front, creating a game that’s easy to pick up and put down, but with plenty of room for strategy should you seek it out.

EVE: War of Ascension is slated for release later this year for iOS and Android.
