EA Mobile announces iPhone launch games
Tetris, Sudoku and Scrabble coming tomorrow
EA Mobile has announced three launch games for the iPhone App Store. Tetris and EA Sudoku will be available for everyone, while Scrabble will only be out in the US and Canada.
The weird thing is this: I was just wondering why EA didn't have any games on the App Store today. But according to the publisher's press release, the games will go live tomorrow.
Anyway, Tetris will see you controlling the falling blocks via the touchscreen, dragging, tapping and pinching to clear rows. The game will offer 15 different levels, and as you'd expect, the visuals and music have been beefed up significantly.
Oh, and there's a new Magic mode designed for iPhone. Nice.
Meanwhile, EA Sudoku offers 10,000 Sudoku grids over five difficulty levels. That sound you can hear now is the sound of Gameloft's entire executive board blowing raspberries, what with their Platinum Sudoku iPhone game boasting 20 million grids.
Anyway, EA's game has touchscreen controls (obviously) as well as plenty of helpful hints, statistic tracking, and the option to let it help you cheat solve newspaper Sudoku puzzles.
Scrabble? Humph. We'd be more excited if it was coming here. But for those of you lucky enough to live over the pond, it's got all manner of screen-zooming touch-control goodness, as well as the ability to shuffle your tiles by shaking the iPhone.
There's also a pass-the-iPhone multiplayer mode for up to four people. Just make sure you check your friends for greasy thumbs before letting them touch your precious handset...
