Cave teases iPhone shmup Do-Don-Pachi Dai-Fukkatsu

Top Tokyo game company, Cave, has posted a teaser trailer on its website for an upcoming iPhone and iPod touch shoot 'em up, entitled Do-Don-Pachi Dai-Fukkatsu.

Now, my knowledge of the Japanese language is by no means comprehensive, but I am reliably informed that Do-Don-Pachi is a clever play on words, doubling up as an expression for the sound of gunfire and ‘angry leader bee’. Fukkatsu = great resurrection, in case you were wondering.

In customary Cave style, the arcade-style action is manic to say the frickin’ least, accompanied by a furious, pulsating soundtrack.

While Do-Don-Pachi Dai-Fukkatsu marks the debut of the DonPachi story on the iOS platform, the title is in fact the fifth in the series, the evolution of which is referenced in the trailer.

Do-Don-Pachi Dai-Fukkatsu should hit the App Store later this summer, so keep a look out on Starship Pocket Gamer.
