So you’ve been tapping away at Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia like we have, huh? Good, the minute mobile JRPG battler is pretty fun, and we have some hot new tips for you.

If you’ve gotten past the first chapter you’ll know that the game opens up a whole lot and there’s too many things to do, so we’re gonna give you a few tips on what to do when you get there.

Read on and you’ll be slaying your way to the end of the game before you know it!

Make sure to take a look at our tips for the most powerful party and everything you need to smash through battles.

World of Illusions and SP

It won’t be long after finishing Chapter 1 that you’ll be granted access to the World of Illusions, a special story map that work slightly differently to the others.

On the World of Illusions map each time you attempt a battle you’ll need to pay with SP, with the earliest quests being 10 SP each. The amount of SP you can hold is tied to your player rank, with each rank allowing you 1 SP. That means that you can’t even attempt a single map until you’re at player rank 10.

Luckily SP refills quite quickly, so once you have enough you can attempt them again pretty fast, but the battles get tough fast, and might be worth saving until the end game - though, do what you can for now, and you’ll find decent rewards.

Breaking gates

While on any story map you’ll come across a number of gates that will halt your progress. You’ll need to fulfil a few conditions to break them down.

Tap on any gate to reveal the conditions - these could vary from killing a certain number of enemies, or raising a particular party member to a certain level.

The gates will always hide something interesting behind them, so it’s worth going out of your way for them, even if you can progress without.

With a little help from my friends

Before taking on any quest you’ll be able to pick from an online player to help you out on your quest. These players will jump into battle for three turns, taking damage and dealing it while your party member is swapped out and safe.

It’s, of course, always worth picking the strongest looking partner to come along for the journey.

Five start weaponry and high levels is definitely a good start, but also certain characters get a boost in the battle, so check to see if the character portrait is glowing.

If you happen to pay the 100 gem cost to continue a battle after falling, you will also be able to call on your partner an extra time.

Event quests

Event quests are limited time quests that can hold rewards of great gear of new characters to add to your party, therefore it’s best to jump into them while you can.

Event quests can also be very difficult, however. Make sure to take a good look at the quest level before jumping in and getting destroyed.

Paying the 100 gems to revive during a battle isn’t a bad choice, considering 100 gems is earned relatively easily, but don’t throw them all away when the battle is too much of a challenge.
