E3 2009: Disney reveals Hannah Montana, G-Force, Jonas Brothers and Toy Story on iPhone

Perhaps people who watch more TV than I do will know why the crowd gave out a naughty cheer every time Sony president Jack Tretton mentioned Hannah Montana during the E3 press conference.

So, as I type this, I hear that salacious crowd murmuring in my mind as I say Disney Interactive is bringing Ms Montana to the Android, BlackBerry and mobile.

Calm down.

An official Hannah Montana: Secret Star game is already out, with her Disney Channel colleagues the Jonas Brothers following not far behind with a September release.

It's also pushing its way further into iPhone territory with an August release of Blocspin 360, though the energy-based arcade game will apparently be retitled as Breakspin for the App Store.

There are also a couple of G-Force games heading the iPhone's way (don't get too excited, as I did - this isn't 'Battle of the Planets' G-Force. It's something agonisingly cute to do with guinea pigs) along with a new Toy Story Mania game to bring the CGI characters back to the fore to drum up publicity for the forthcoming third movie instalment.

Disney holds some quite specific, yet undeniably popular, IPs, and whether or not you fall into the category of mouse worshippers or not, it's good to see Walt turning his frozen gaze upon the smartphone platforms.

Spanner Spencer
Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
