Buzz and Woody heading to iOS and Android in cross-platform Disney Infinity experience
There's a snake in my boot
The guys and gals over at Polygon have managed to get their mitts on some leaked images and videos of Disney's Infinity project.
For those of you unfamiliar with this upcoming Disney venture, it's an ambitious multi-platform experience that will allow you to play as characters from Toy Story, The Incredibles, and other Disney and Pixar franchises.
According to the leaked videos, gameplay will be varied.
In one video, Woody use a grappling hook to grab a passing plane flown by Buzz Lightyear. In another clip, players fire explosives from a toy slingshot at a distant castle.
The former is a collection of themed virtual playsets that are based on popular properties like Cars, Wreck-It Ralph, and Aladdin.
These playsets feature matching backdrops and toys, and will probably boast pre-created missions.
The Rumpus Room, the other hand, is a completely blank slate. On it, you will be able to build virtually anything you like, using backdrops and characters from a variety of playsets.
Disney Infinity will run on a variety of different consoles and portable devices, including the Xbox 360, the iPad, and a range of Android-powered gadgets.
It's currently unclear exactly how the cross-platform play will work, and the game's building elements may not make it onto mobile devices.
Disney is expected to showcase Infinity on January 15th, so we'll have more details then.
